Frederick Alley taught my Grandfather Arthur Hunter and his siblings social justice. His wife Clara Alley was Kate Sheppard's secretary. Their son was Rewi Alley.

I was born in Nelson, attended Central School where my father taught and my mother was a nurse aide at Braemar and at the ToiToi St Flats, the first community based residential homes.

I attended NGC, worked for Bookshops and Publishers in New Zealand and Australia. 

Trained as an Interior Decorator in Sydney and worked on major Heritage restoration projects, Commonwealth Bank, Treasury Building, Swifts (Shayne Moran Health Group),  Supreme court etc.

I worked in the Tile Industry for 15 years in Australia and NZ for RAK based in Dubai UAE and was on the Board of Women in Construction in Wellington NAWIC.

I did all my Welfare training at Sydney Ultimo Tafe 1999 with Dame Julie Bates founder of Harm Reduction Australia and returned to NZ did my Community Services Health and Disability Aged Care Training at NMIT and sat on the post graduate NMIT Community Services Advisory Committee. I have been a Healthcare worker since 2013 and more recently medicinal cannabis lobbyist and contributed to the legalization of illicit cannabis for palliative care 2018.

I have been an Interfaith Board member and I am a member of the Multi Cultural Council and Inclusive Aotearoa. As a pakeha I have been a member of Waipounamu Anglican Maori Mission and worked at the Marae.

I have been the Coordinator for Alton St Heritage Precinct since 1996 representing the English early settlers recruited in Alton in Hampshire and Te Tiriti partnership.

A member of Grey Power.
